Linger Longer Vineyard is ideally located to enjoy the coast, the food and wine, the fun and history. It takes less than ten minutes to reach Port Willunga, Aldinga and Silver Sand beaches - a long, glorious stretch of silver sand, crystal clear water and magnificent cliffs - where you can swim, fish, surf or just relax. It is less than an hour drive to Victor Harbor or to the Adelaide Hills, including Hahndorf and Strathalbyn. Adelaide city, a must for any visitor to South Australia, is only forty-five minutes away. And Linger Longer Vineyard is a great stop en-route to or from Kangaroo Island.

Closer to home however, there are over 70 diverse and intriguing wineries where you can taste the famous McLaren Vale wines and learn about the wine history of the area. Within 2 kms are Fox Creek Wines, with the original old 1800 cottage as its cellar door, and Dowie Doole, with its new, modern building.

There are also two local breweries in the area where you can learn how beer is made and taste the results. Several of the wineries offer their lovely venues for concerts, bands, theatre, films and cabarets. Foremost of these are Coriole, Wirra Wirra, Woodstock and Red Poles. Many also regularly launch and show Art exhibitions.

Guests can visit Art galleries showing works of prominent local artists; indulge in the many fine restaurants and bistros in the area; walk or cycle along the Shiraz Trail or one of the other scenic routes (bikes can be hired from McLaren Vale); enjoy a scenic flight at the nearby Aldinga Airfield or play golf. The many restaurants, bistros and coffee bars meet most culinary tastes. Several of the wineries, such as d'Arenberg, have first class restaurants with many others serving platters and a selection of light food.

Less than five minutes from Linger Longer Vineyard is the historic town of Willunga with its heritage listed buildings and extensive use of slate mined from the local quarries. Saturday mornings between 8.00 am and 12.30 pm it is flooded with visitors to the prestigious Farmers Market where local producers sell fresh fruit, vegetables bread and pastries, as well as preserved meats, smoked fish, jams, spices, cheeses and nuts. Willunga is the home of the much acclaimed Finos restaurant and Russells Pizza and The Court House Museum which is a treasure trove of historical information about the families and developments in the area.
